Logs

Bulk Logs

We offer larger volumes of both Kiln Dried Hardwood and Barn Stored Hardwood logs for either delivery or collection.

Barn Stored

These are our naturally seasoned logs. After cutting and splitting the logs are stored under cover in our barn and achieve a lower moisture content than outdoor stored logs.

Kiln Dried Hardwood

These are an increasingly popular choice for customers wanting the maximum heat and efficiency from their purchase.  As the name suggests, these logs are dried in a large oven which allows the moisture content to be taken to a lower and more consistent level than natural seasoning.  The result is a high quality fuel which burns hotter and longer. As well as being suitable for any kind of fire and chiminea these logs are perfect for pizza ovens.

Log Sizes

Our Barn Stored Hardwood logs are available in the following sizes:   up to 10"
Our Kiln Dried Hardwood logs are available in a 10” or 10 - 12", 12" - 15" and 18" length

Comparisons

When choosing the quantity of logs you require the following price comparisons may be useful

• One full load (3m3) is equivalent to approximately 5 bulk bags.

When to purchase bulk loads?

As we have limited storage capacity for Barn Stored Hardwood logs our stock, whilst considerable, is still finite and we advise our customers wanting  Barn Stored  naturally seasoned logs to purchase during the spring and summer to avoid being disappointed. From a practical point of view it is also nicer to stack your logs on a warm summers day rather than a wet winters day!  Kiln dried logs are available throughout the year.

Deliveries

With friendly and reliable staff, we pride ourselves on our timely and efficient delivery service. We offer deliveries six days per week, at a mutually convenient time. We normally arrange a one hour time slot for your delivery e.g. between 8am – 9am to ensure you don’t have to “wait in” all morning or afternoon.  The "timed delivery slot" is part of our standard service and we do not charge extra for this facility.

Our delivery vehicles are tipping trucks which we will endeavour to get as close as we safely can to the area in which you want your delivery tipped.  Being a natural product there can be a small amount of bark  & brash and when tipping onto sensitive area’s  (e.g. pea-gravel drives) we do recommend you protect  the area with a tarpaulin or similar.

We offer two delivery sizes on our Barn Stored Hardwood logs, either 2m3  or a “full load” (3m3).
There are three delivery sizes on our 10" Kiln Dried Oak, Ash or Birch logs, 1cubic metre, 2 cubic metres or 3cubic metres., whilst our longer length kiln dried logs are available in a  "half load" (1.5m3) or a full load (3m3).
These volumes are “loose” amounts.
We can combine the delivery of sundry products (smokeless fuel, heat logs, kindling, firelighters etc) along with your delivery of logs with no additional delivery charge.

Stacking Service

We offer a stacking service for a fee.  Our staff will move the logs from our delivery vehicle to your log store where they will be neatly stacked.

Collection in person

You are welcome to collect in person from our yard.  Logs can be collected either in bulk bags ( 0.6m3 ) or from our  loading bucket ( 1.3m3 for kiln dried hardwood) or 2m3 (for barnstored hardwood), again these are loose volumes. If your vehicle isn’t suitable for loading bags or buckets mechanically they can be loaded into your vehicle by hand.
Smaller amounts are available from our shop in nets bags.  Our net bags (up to 10”) logs and are available in Kiln Dried hardwood.
Purchasing a smaller amount is an excellent way to see which wood best suits your stove/fire.

Payment

We accept debit card (when placing your order), BACS transfer (before delivery) or “cash on delivery”.  Please note that we no longer accept cheques.  Please see our prices page for our current prices.
